For many years, Laurent LOUIS, President of Révolution, has been warning about the severity of paedocriminality, the shortcomings of our judicial system, the protection afforded to paedocriminal networks, and the chronic inability of our leaders to take measures commensurate with the danger.
Even today, the reality remains frightening...
In Belgium, sexual violence against minors is a massive phenomenon. According to official figures, 1 in 10 Belgian children has already been confronted with sexual violence during their lifetime. One Belgian child in 10 represents approximately 230,000 children! That is enormous!
Even more worrying, the number of cases opened for rape and sexual offences continues to rise. In 2023, no fewer than 11,210 cases were opened by the Belgian justice system, compared to 7,920 ten years earlier.
Behind these figures lie human tragedies, destroyed childhoods, broken families, and victims who will carry their wounds for the rest of their lives.
And yet...
How many sexual criminals eventually regain their freedom?
How many benefit from sentence reductions or early release arrangements?
How many reoffend after promising never to do it again?
How many victims feel that the system protects their abusers more than it protects them?
These are the real questions!
The Time for Leniency Must End
Révolution refuses a society where honest citizens are expected to live in ignorance while sexual predators can move into their neighbourhood without anyone knowing.
Révolution refuses a society where the rights of criminals sometimes seem to be given greater consideration than the rights of children.
Révolution refuses a society where victims are told to remain silent, move on, and trust a system that has too often abandoned them.
The primary mission of a State is to protect the innocent. When it fails in that mission, it betrays its very purpose!
A Public Sex Offender Registry
Révolution demands the immediate creation of a public sex offender registry.
Citizens have the right to know.
Parents have the right to protect their children.
Residents have the right to know whether individuals convicted of serious sexual crimes against minors are living in their immediate surroundings.
Some will invoke the criminal's right to be forgotten.
We believe first and foremost in the right of children to grow up safely.
We want citizens to be able to consult this registry and know whether a person convicted of sexual crimes against minors resides in their neighbourhood.
Because one truth is undeniable: If they hunt our children, we will hunt them too!
True Life Sentences for Child Murderers
Some crimes are so monstrous that they must result in permanent exclusion from society.
Child murderers deserve neither indulgence nor a second chance.
Révolution calls for the introduction of true life imprisonment, without the possibility of early release, for anyone found guilty of kidnapping, torturing, or murdering a child.
A society that releases such individuals risks creating new victims!
Mandatory Sentences for Child Rapists
The rape of a child is not a mistake.
It is not a lapse in judgement.
It is not a weakness.
It is a deliberate criminal act that permanently destroys a life.
We therefore demand mandatory, non-reducible sentences for perpetrators of rape and serious sexual assaults against minors.
Anyone who destroys a childhood must fully bear the consequences of their actions!
Chemical Castration for Paedocriminals
The absolute priority must be the protection of potential victims.
When children's safety is at stake, the public interest must prevail over all other considerations.
This is why Révolution also supports the use of chemical castration for perpetrators of sexual crimes against minors, within the framework provided by law.
Our objective is not revenge.
Our objective is simple: to prevent one more child from becoming a victim.
Let Fear Finally Change Sides
For too long, victims have lived in fear.
For too long, families have lived in anguish.
For too long, predators have benefited from incomprehensible leniency.
It is time to reverse this logic.
