For several years now, I have felt a profound unease regarding the evolution of our society and the political choices that shape our daily lives. As a Belgian citizen, I can no longer simply observe and complain without ever taking action.
I feel that our country is gradually drifting away from the values that helped build our civilization and preserve the cohesion of our society.
That is why I have chosen to join the Revolution movement. I wish to fully commit myself to a project that dares to put essential questions back at the heart of the debate: respect for the human person, justice, responsibility, family, freedom, and the common good.
I am deeply convinced that Belgium would benefit from reconnecting with its Christian heritage, not to impose a religion on anyone, but to rediscover the spiritual and moral values presented to us in the person of Christ.
Christian values such as love of neighbor, forgiveness, respect for life, humility, solidarity, truth, fidelity, a sense of duty, and the dignity of every human being seem to me more necessary than ever today.
We live in an era where materialism, individualism, and the constant pursuit of self-interest often take precedence over a sense of service, responsibility, and respect for others. I believe our society needs to rediscover a spiritual dimension, solid principles, and a true moral compass, oriented toward the future.
I am also deeply concerned by the scourge of child sexual abuse. For me, the protection of children should be an absolute priority for any state worthy of the name. Victims must be heard, supported, and protected, while the perpetrators of these crimes must be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. I expect the justice system to be effective, to have the necessary resources to combat these crimes, and to inspire public confidence.
At the same time, I observe that workers are increasingly penalized by a heavy tax burden. Many citizens work hard, pay their taxes, and respect the rules, yet see their purchasing power diminish year after year. Taxes and levies accumulate, while many families struggle to make ends meet. I want a policy that better rewards work and entrepreneurship, supports families, and allows everyone to live with dignity from the fruits of their labor.
I want citizens to regain a real voice in the decisions that concern their country. A strong democracy rests on listening, transparency, the accountability of elected officials, and citizen participation. Many Belgians today feel that their concerns are no longer sufficiently taken into account. It is time to give the people a voice and to build a society founded on strong values, solid ethics, and a vision of humanity that places dignity, responsibility, the protection of the most vulnerable, and the common good at the heart of every political decision.
